Privacy Policy

Summary

MetaCAD Pocket has no developer-operated account system, advertising, or cross-app tracking. Your calculations and operational content stay on your device unless you explicitly export or share a file through Android. The app sends limited product analytics to Amplitude's EU service so Aurumapps can measure whether core workflows work reliably. You can disable this at any time in Settings > Privacy.

Data the developer collects

For product analytics, the app collects app interactions such as a completed calculation, case save, export, or resume; a random installation identifier generated by the analytics SDK; app version/build, Android platform, session lifecycle, and coarse technical app/device software information. These data are sent over HTTPS to the MetaCAD Amplitude project in the EU and used only to measure feature usage, reliability, and retention.

• No contact details, vessel data, case contents, photos, or location data is sent to Aurumapps.
• No advertising ID, App Set ID, precise or coarse location, IP-derived location, account identity, or cross-app tracking is used for analytics.
• No calculations, BDN figures, case packages, PDFs, or evidence files are uploaded automatically.
• Analytics never includes vessel names, IMO/MMSI, ports, BDN data, entered quantities, results, notes, file contents, email, phone, or raw error text.

From version 2.0.4, while analytics is enabled, the app can ask Google Play for installation-referrer information. It reports only fixed categories for source, MetaCAD campaign, website button placement, and whether local installation metadata indicates a recent install, an existing install, or an unknown state. Raw referrer strings, URLs, click identifiers, and installation timestamps are not retained or sent to analytics. Only normalized categories and retry/report state are saved in local storage excluded from Android backup. This helps measure discovery without tracking you across apps or sites.

The analytics data is not sold, used for advertising, or combined with an account identity. The Settings > Privacy switch stops future collection and referrer requests. For questions concerning analytics data, contact Aurumapps at the address below.

Data stored on your device

Calculations, cases, vessel profiles, bunker operations, notes, photos, attachments, and generated files are stored locally on your device. Android backup and restore may retain or restore app data according to your device and Google account settings.

You can delete individual records with the controls available in the app. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes local data from that installation, subject to Android backup and restore. Export important work before clearing storage or uninstalling.

Files you choose to export or share

The app can create and import case packages, PDFs, and evidence files. A file leaves the app only when you choose a destination in the Android system file picker or share sheet. The selected destination or recipient handles that file under its own privacy terms.

Device permissions

• Camera: used to capture local evidence, recognize text, and scan QR codes or barcodes. The app does not upload captured images.
• Location: optional and used only to attach a local geotag to a photo when you allow it. The app does not upload location data.
• Biometric authentication: used only as an on-device confirmation or unlock step. Android performs the biometric check; the app cannot access your biometric template.
• Notifications: optional and used only for reminders scheduled and displayed on the device.

Bundled Google ML Kit models perform text and barcode recognition on the device.

Google Play services and billing

All tools in the current release are available without payment. The app retains Google Play Billing integration and existing product mappings for update compatibility. Google Play may process app installation, update, licensing, and transaction information under Google's Privacy Policy. Aurumapps does not receive or store payment-card details.

Children

The app is designed for adult maritime professionals and is not directed at children.

Security and operational responsibility

Keeping data local reduces network exposure, but you remain responsible for device access, backups, and exported files. MetaCAD Pocket is a decision-support tool and not a substitute for approved vessel procedures, instruments, or professional judgement.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. The current policy remains available at this same URL.
